Le Eroine di Giacomo Puccini
Concert

For some, Giacomo Puccini is a sensitive interpreter of the female universe; for others, a "sadist in kid gloves." The latter view stems from the tragic fates he assigns to many of his heroines—struck down by illness, driven to suicide, and always, inevitably, unhappy.
In Puccini's pantheon of heroines stand not only Madama Butterfly, but also Tosca, Mimì, Manon, and Suor Angelica: dreamy and emotional, fragile yet determined women, caught between ethical and cultural conflicts.
Soprano Renata Campanella will give voice to these characters, accompanied by conductor, pianist, and presenter Stefano Giaroli, who will also provide commentary and insights into the works.
