Rethinking Folk Music
Saturday

Nov

Cultural Center Euregio Dobbiaco
Folk music inspires – deeply rooted in tradition yet interpreted in a modern way, it has been experiencing a creative renaissance for several years. The Euregio Cultural Centre Dobbiaco embraces this trend and invites you, for the third time, to “Herbischt.klong” on 15 November – an evening that repackages musical tradition and brings it to the stage with fresh energy.
With Postwirtmusi and Wüdara Musi, two of the most exciting and in-demand folk music groups from the Alpine region have been brought together. Together, they will present a varied concert full of joy, virtuosity, and authenticity.
Workshop for Tanzlmusig – Join in and play
In the afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the two groups will offer a Tanzlmusig workshop. Here, participants of all musical levels can come together and play under professional guidance. Both established groups and individuals are welcome; individual participants will be assigned to appropriate ensembles on-site.

In 2025, the festival introduces an exciting new feature: the “Herbischt.klong” Composition Prize. The search is on for a new polka composition for a traditional Tanzlmusig ensemble (clarinet, flugelhorn, trombone, tuba, diatonic accordion).
